Assistant Instructor Wanted - could this be you?

Assistant Instructor Wanted

Paraventures are looking to recruit an Assistant Instructor to join the team who:

  • Has held PG2 for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Has, or is willing to get, a current Workplace First Aid certificate.
  • Holds, or is willing to get, a Passenger Endorsement on their full, clean driver’s license.
  • Has residency, citizenship, or a visa enabling employment in NZ.
  • Is willing to travel to Cardrona and Wanaka on a regular basis.

To enjoy the role, you’ll need to be fit, motivated, have a desire to learn, and enjoy working in the outdoors. Of course, you’ll also need to be respectful of the difficulties associated with working in a weather dependent profession. You’ll be a capable and confident pilot, mindful of your weaknesses, and have a 6th sense for risk management. You may have instructing experience in other outdoor pursuits and your instructing skills may shorten the journey to becoming a paragliding instructor.

Paraventures import and distribute UP and Skyman. You will need to be passionate about these products and will work with us to help develop these brands. Paraventures are fortunately able to help with your development as a pilot. With regular SIV and XC courses, your participation will ensure your skills quickly develop to a PG3 standard. Tailored coaching can be provided wherever necessary.

Depending on the candidate, the role could be part or full time. It is envisaged that the ideal person may have supplementary employment and flexibility will be provided to facilitate this, as necessary.

Your relationship with our team, other pilots, and students is vitally important. Being an instructor requires respect, common sense, compassion, a desire to help, tolerance, patience and sometimes an ability to bite your tongue! These personality traits mean some people are born to instruct, and others not. We want to hear from those who are.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
